Advancing Veterinary Practice Through Collaboration

The Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) is committed to strengthening animal health, veterinary practice, and community wellbeing through strategic collaborations and impactful projects. Our partnerships with foundations, industry stakeholders, and development organizations enable us to implement programs that advance professional growth, influence policy, and promote sustainable animal health systems.

KVA – Animal Health and Breeding Program

This program focuses on improving animal productivity, resilience, and welfare through better breeding practices and enhanced veterinary care. By integrating research, fieldwork, and farmer engagement, the initiative aims to strengthen food security and livestock sustainability.

KVA – KCB Foundation

In partnership with the KCB Foundation, KVA supports initiatives that enhance livestock farming, veterinary service delivery, and rural community empowerment. The collaboration promotes sustainable livelihoods by linking veterinary expertise with community development.

KVA – KCBF/KELCOP

This project extends the KCB Foundation partnership through KELCOP, focusing on livestock production and value chain development. It promotes improved farming practices, veterinary extension, and economic empowerment for smallholder farmers.

KVA – Zoetis

With support from Zoetis, KVA strengthens veterinary professional development by funding Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs and supporting the KVA Magazine. This partnership ensures ongoing access to the latest knowledge, research, and thought leadership in veterinary medicine.

KVA – GALVmed

Through collaboration with GALVmed, KVA is advancing the development of its Strategic Plan, ensuring that the Association remains forward-looking and aligned with global trends in animal health, veterinary education, and policy.

KVA – LivestockEx

This partnership promotes livestock exhibitions and trade opportunities, providing a platform for industry players, farmers, and veterinary professionals to connect, share knowledge, and showcase innovations in animal health and production.

KVA – Donkey Sanctuary

KVA works with the Donkey Sanctuary to develop and advocate for Animal Welfare Policy. The project emphasizes humane treatment, protection of working animals, and raising awareness of donkey welfare within communities and policymaking circles.

KVA – KMA One Health Conference

In collaboration with the Kenya Medical Association (KMA), KVA co-hosts the One Health Conference, bringing together human and animal health professionals to address shared challenges. The conference promotes multidisciplinary dialogue on zoonotic diseases, public health, and One Health approaches.
