For those willing to use pool transport (Bus) from Kabete Vet Labs to Isiolo to attend the KVA Annual Scientific Conference and World Veterinary Day Celebrations are requested to register with KVA through the office number 0727680022 or info@kenyavetassociation.com by c.o.b Friday, 19th April 2024. 50 spaces are available and will be given on a first come basis.

The Kenya Veterinary Association invites all members to the 2019 Annual Golf Tournament to be held on 13th July, 2019 at the Kabete Vetlab Golf Club from 7am to 6pm. There will be a Golf Clinic for amateurs and a KVA sponsored tournament whereby KVA members will participate with the rest of the club members

The Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) is a membership professional association for Veterinary Surgeons whose mandate is to act as a watchdog for the veterinary profession in ensuring proper management of veterinary and animal welfare issues that impact on the welfare of the veterinarians with an overall aim of enhancing animal welfare. Towards this end the Association is involved in advocacy on issues affecting the animal resource industry in collaboration with other stakeholders. Is the “male” an endangered species?

As a practicing Veterinarian I recalled, a couple of days back when I had visited a farm with varied livestock animals for consultation. In this particular farm, the bull calves, heifers, adult bulls and cows had equal existence opportunity and the rules of nature takes full course. I asked to know the purpose of the farm, and of course it is for commercial purposes. Immediately I changed my tone and ordered 90% of the bulls above their puberty age to be eliminated from the farm. Either slaughtered for meat or to be sold off and the remaining 10% must be castrated for use as beast of burden if necessary.
