The Africa Animal Welfare Conference organizing committee is pleased to inform you that the registration to the 5th Africa Animal Welfare Conference-Action 2021, is now open. The conference will take place in Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), Accra, Ghana from 6th – 8th, September 2021, Arrival on Sunday 5th and departure 9th Thursday 2021.

Who should attend? 

The conference will be a congregation of multi-disciplinary interaction, expertise and interest in thematic areas cutting across Animal Welfare, Wildlife and Environmental Conservation and sustainable development, including civil society groups, NGOs, government officials and representatives of government-affiliated institutions, members of UNEP’s Committee of Permanent Representatives, members of Regional Economic Communities, academia, researchers, media, policymakers, community members, interest groups, development practitioners, students in tertiary institutions and relevant stakeholders.

Tanzania Veterinary Association (TVA) Conference 2017

The Tanzania Veterinary Association (TVA) is pleased to announce its 35th Scientific Conference, which will be held at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) in Arusha, Tanzania from the 5th to 7th December 2017.

The Theme for the Conference is: “The role of livestock sector in building an industry based economy in Tanzania” Sub-Themes are:
1. Challenges associated with value addition in the livestock sector
2. Influence of farming system on productivity
3. The role of animal feed manufacturing industry on animal sector
4. The influence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to value addition
5. Welfare and contribution of draft animals to the transformation of the agricultural sector

 

TVA invites those who wish to present papers during the Conference to submit Abstract not exceeding 250 words in line with the above Theme and sub-themes.

The deadline for submission of Abstracts is 30th September 2017 whereas for full papers shall be 4th November 2017. Kindly submit high quality Abstracts and full papers, and adhere to the deadlines in order to enable the TVA Secretariat to prepare relevant documents on time.

Two types of presentations at the Conference are invited:
(a) Oral presentation: Papers should NOT exceed 15 pages typed in MS Word, double spaced using 12 pt font size of Times New Roman.
(b) The poster presentation should be 1.5m high and 1.2m wide.

INTRODUCTION
The Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) in collaboration with the Zoonotic Disease Unit (ZDU) and the Washington State University (WSU) will hold the Annual Scientific Conference, World Rabies Day (WRD) celebrations and the Veterinary of the Year (VOYA) award ceremony at Acacia Premier Hotel, Kisumu County, Kenya as from 26th to 29th September, 2017. The theme of the events will be ‘’Rabies: Zero by 30″.

EXPECTECTED DELEGATES AT THE CONFERENCE
The conference targets about 500 delegates comprising of National Government, County Government, Veterinary Practitioners, Academia, Media, international delegates, Development Partners, Civil Society Organizations etc .

2nd Global Conference on One Health

2nd GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON ONE HEALTH – Moving forward from One Health Concept to One Health Approach

November 10th-11th in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Following the successful Global Conference on One Health (GCOH) that was held in Madrid in May 2015, the WVA and WMA in close collaboration with the Japan Medical Association (JMA) and the Japan Veterinary Medical Association (JVMA) are preparing the 2nd GCOH to be held on November 10th-11th in kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. 

The 2nd GCOH aims to bring together Veterinarians, Physicians, Students, Public Health Officers, Animal Health Officers, NGOs and other interested parties from the different world regions to learn, discuss and to address critical aspects of the ‘One Health’ Concept.

The main objectives of the conference are to strengthen the links and communications and to achieve closer collaboration between Physicians, Veterinarians and all appropriate stakeholders to improve the different aspects of health and welfare of humans, animals and the environment.
